Section VIII LRC By-Laws….Membership

 

 

All sober and clean alcoholics and addicts with at least thirty (30) days of continuous recovery may petition to become a dues paying member of the club, upon recommendation of at least one (1) member of the Board of Directors. Auxiliary (non-voting) membership is also available to relatives and close friends of active members; however, membership is a privilege, not a right.  Once accepted, it shall be the responsibility of the individual member to:

A. Pay dues on a regular basis, in an amount set by the Board of Directors

B. Share in the responsibilities of Club operations

C. Act in the best interests of the Club at all times, while associated with the Club and promote the general welfare of the club 

D. Refrain from the consumption of alcohol or drugs

E  Refrain from panhandling, soliciting for business or religious endeavors or from using the Clubroom  or any purpose other than authorized by these By-Laws

F. Refrain from engaging in any illegal conduct or creating any kind of disturbance to others

 

A member may bring onto the premise a person under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, for purposes set down heretofore, however, it shall be the direct responsibility of said member to supervise and monitor the behavior of such intoxicated person; in any event, the member bringing said intoxicated individual onto the premises, hereby accepts and assumes full and complete responsibility for said individual.

 

All persons not members of the Club, shall have no right to be on the premises of the corporation, or use the facilities of the Clubroom except for a reasonable time before and after scheduled 12 step meetings.

Any member guilty of misconduct, as defined by (d), (e), or (f) above, may be expelled from the Clubroom immediately, by any one member of the Board of Directors, or their designated agent, pending hearing of the alleged misconduct, which shall be conducted within ten (10) days of the date thereof.  Such member, upon hearing may be expelled or suspended from membership, the Clubroom, and meetings of recovery held in Club facilities, by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.  The action to be taken shall be at the sole discretion of said Board of Directors.
